Stafford Choral Society
We are a traditional choir from Stafford and surrounding villages. We enjoy singing and love coming together to make music. No audition is required to join us but most of our members can read music or have a basic grounding in music theory.
We rehearse on Mondays from 7.15-9.15pm at ENTRUST, The Riverway Centre, Stafford in a purpose-built suite with a Yamaha grand piano.
Currently the choir has about 90 members. Our repertoire includes traditional choral works and more modern compositions. For more information on our previous concerts, see our ‘Past Performances’ page.
We perform four concerts each year. Our autumn concert is in November, while in December, the week before Christmas, we perform Handel’s Messiah. Our spring concert (April/May) is when we usually perform with full orchestra and professional soloists, followed by a more informal concert in July.
For special anniversary concerts, we have sung some of the great oratorios with an augmented choir in Lichfield Cathedral.
